Cybersecurity Infrastructure Engineer

SNI Technology is seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Infrastructure Engineer to support a leading firm in the Health & Wellness sector.

The ideal candidate will engage in proactive threat detection and remediation efforts to safeguard against cyber threats. A solid understanding of vulnerability assessment tools such as Tenable Nessus Cloud, Nessus Vulnerability Scanner, and Acunetix Web Application Vulnerability Scanner is essential, along with familiarity with the Federal Government Authorization to Operate (ATO) process. This role will leverage expertise in threat detection and vulnerability management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Evaluate and audit existing data storage and transfer systems to pinpoint vulnerabilities and assess associated risks; conduct vulnerability assessments.
  2. Perform audits and assessments to identify risks and vulnerabilities related to cloud environments and coordinate remediation efforts.
  3. Offer subject matter expertise for new and existing cloud security initiatives across networks, applications, and databases, providing technical support as necessary.
  4. Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments to determine the risk posture of various systems within cloud environments.
  5. Collaborate in the formulation, development, and execution of security standards.
  6. Implement new or enhanced security measures and document any changes to systems or policies.
  7. Assist in maintaining enterprise information security policies, technical standards, guidelines, and procedures to ensure compliance with established company policies and regulatory requirements.
  8. Lead the development of a common control framework to assist project teams in meeting ATO requirements.
  9. Work collaboratively with all functions within the IT operations team to deploy threat detection mechanisms, introduce new tools, and enhance response capabilities.
  10. Identify opportunities for improving security processes and contribute to their further development.
  11. Review security violation reports or logs, investigate potential security incidents, and manage incident response procedures while coordinating with internal and external parties as necessary.
  12. Monitor and report on the effectiveness of cloud information security controls, processes, and policies.
  13. Assist in investigating security incidents and recommend solutions to mitigate threats and vulnerabilities.
  14. Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations.
  15. Ensure adherence to security policies, standards, and procedures.
  16. Coordinate with IT Operations teams, including Systems, Network, Dev-Ops, and Help Desk, on the implementation and support of key cloud initiatives.
  17. Provide expertise in IT security matters.
  18. Deliver subject matter expertise in Office 365 and Microsoft Azure, focusing on security products and processes.
  19. Consult on advanced services such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS layers, including authentication, data encryption, and key management.
  20. Stay informed about current trends in security, privacy, and cloud technology.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred, along with a minimum of 10 years of industry experience. Certified Information Systems Security certification is a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in security engineering and infrastructure roles.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience managing IT infrastructure solutions, including operating systems, networks, firewalls, and cloud services.
  • Familiarity with industry security standards such as NIST cybersecurity framework and ISO 27001.
  • At least 3 years of experience with security automation and orchestration.
  • Minimum of 5 years managing security technologies such as SIEM, data loss prevention, and endpoint security.
  • At least 5 years of experience as an Azure/O365 engineer.
  • Knowledge of best practices for vulnerability management and risk analysis.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Proficient in Tenable Nessus Cloud and Nessus Vulnerability Scanner.
  • Experience with Acunetix Web Application Vulnerability Scanner.
  • Knowledge of IT Security Framework Design and Implementation, with experience in NIST or ISO 27001.
  • Familiarity with the Federal Government ATO process and related regulations.
  • General understanding of threat hunting methodologies and vulnerability remediation processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software tools.
