Position Overview:

Absolute Business Solutions Corp (ABSC) is on the lookout for a skilled DevOps Engineer to collaborate with a vibrant team dedicated to architecting, developing, and implementing an advanced technology framework that underpins the DIA-NMEC DOMEX Data Discovery Platform (D3P). This role is integral to a long-term contract supporting the modernization of the DOMEX Data Discovery Platform (D3P) and enhancing NMEC's mission to streamline Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TCPED) of Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) across the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, troubleshoot, and sustain a production-grade big data pipeline utilizing a microservices architecture, leveraging Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, and Kafka.
  • Refine and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies to accelerate development cycles, enhance error detection, and ensure robust deployments.
  • Design and support scalable, redundant infrastructure across both physical and virtual environments.
  • Utilize Helm for configuring Kubernetes deployments to meet evolving feature requirements.
  • Collaborate with Systems Engineers to devise solutions for new functionalities and specifications.
  • Contribute technical insights to systems engineering documentation and models in partnership with the Systems Engineering and Architecture teams.
  • Engage in Agile release planning, scrum meetings, bug triage, design discussions, and other collaborative sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience with a minimum of 8 years in software development or systems engineering. A master's degree with at least 6 years of experience is also acceptable.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with the capability to obtain and maintain a CI Polygraph.
  • Proficient in Linux environments.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Development skills in languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or Java.
  • Proven ability to engage in cross-functional planning and execution.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience managing systems at scale.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices.
  • Background in production or enterprise-level systems.
  • Knowledge of technologies including:
    • Kafka or similar messaging systems (AMQP, JMS).
    • Kubernetes monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
    • GPU-based Kubernetes implementations.
    • SALT for deployment automation.
    • Elasticsearch, Kibana, and Logstash, particularly in an administrative capacity.
    • Helm and Helmfile.
    • Nexus.
