Maternal-Fetal Medicine Ultrasound Specialist

About the Role:
As a vital member of the Cleveland Clinic's Maternal Fetal Medicine team, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality ultrasound services to assess and monitor high-risk pregnancies. This position is situated within a leading healthcare organization dedicated to patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive OB ultrasound examinations for both inpatients and outpatients at the Fetal Evaluation Center or at the bedside as directed by the physician.
- Assist the Perinatologist in performing invasive procedures, ensuring patient preparation and completion of necessary documentation.
- Utilize diagnostic equipment effectively, recognizing indications for its appropriate use.
- Generate permanent records of ultrasound examinations and prepare preliminary reports of findings, presenting this information to the Perinatologist/Obstetrician promptly.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Adhere to infection control protocols consistently.
- Employ computer skills in accordance with departmental policies for report generation, billing, and maintaining patient medical records.
- Coordinate and assist with outpatient procedures such as amniocentesis and PUBS ultrasound.
- Support co-workers and comply with supervisors' directives to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Follow all policies and procedures of the Cleveland Clinic Health System, demonstrating reliability in meeting responsibilities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
- RDMS certification in Abdominal (AB) and Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role.
Work Environment:
- This position requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment and respond appropriately to challenging situations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Capability to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weights and manipulate ultrasound equipment daily.
