As a Maternal-Fetal Ultrasound Specialist, you will play a crucial role in delivering care to high-risk pregnancies. Your expertise will be essential in conducting ultrasound examinations to evaluate the health of expectant mothers and their unborn children, aiding physicians in diagnosing potential medical concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive OB ultrasound assessments for both inpatients and outpatients, as directed by the physician.
  • Assist the Perinatologist during invasive procedures, ensuring patient preparation and documentation are completed accurately.
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment effectively, recognizing indications for its appropriate use.
  • Generate permanent records of ultrasound examinations and prepare preliminary reports for timely presentation to the Perinatologist/Obstetrician.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment for patients and staff.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols consistently.
  • Employ computer skills in accordance with departmental policies for reporting, billing, and maintaining patient records.
  • Support and coordinate outpatient procedures such as amniocentesis and PUBS ultrasound.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high-quality service delivery while adhering to cost-effective practices.
  • Follow all policies and procedures of the healthcare facility, demonstrating reliability in meeting responsibilities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.

Certifications Required:

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
  • RDMS Abdominal (AB) certification.
  • RDMS Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) certification.
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.

Work Environment:

  • Requires strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be capable of functioning effectively in a high-pressure environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift or assist in lifting patients of varying weights and handle equipment daily.
