We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Surgical Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide essential support in a healthcare setting.

  • Lovelace Medical Center is a leading acute care hospital equipped with 263 licensed beds, delivering a wide range of services such as emergency care, surgical interventions, and specialized treatments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with registered nurses to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for patients.
  • Utilize basic skills to communicate effectively and perform assigned tasks under the supervision of nursing staff.
  • Document patient data accurately and relay any concerns to the nursing team.
  • Maintain safety protocols, ensuring that call lights, bed alarms, and other safety measures are in place.
  • Measure and record patients' vital signs.
  • Monitor patient conditions regularly and report any changes to the appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of care provided in the medical records.
  • Respond promptly to patient requests and assist with daily living activities.
  • Collect specimens for laboratory analysis as required.
  • Assist with patient transport and basic housekeeping duties.
  • Help maintain a clean and organized environment for both patients and staff.
  • Prepare and clean patient rooms as necessary.
  • Engage in purposeful rounding and bedside reporting as directed.
  • Perform various patient care duties and clerical tasks as assigned.
  • Manage unit records and maintain adequate supplies for the unit.
  • Other responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • BLS certification within 30 days of employment.

Preferred:

  • One year of experience in acute or long-term care settings.
  • Completion of an accredited CNA, PCT, or paramedic certification program, including BLS, or current enrollment in a nursing program.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
