Your role extends beyond your immediate team:

  • Our facility is an acute care hospital equipped with 263 licensed beds, offering a wide range of services including emergency care, surgical interventions, non-invasive robotic spine surgery, stroke management, radiology, and oncology services.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with registered nurses to ensure the delivery of care in a safe environment that encourages healing.
  • Exhibit fundamental knowledge and skills to communicate effectively and execute delegated tasks for patients under the guidance of a registered nurse.
  • Accurately document information as instructed and relay observations and patient concerns to the registered nurse.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, ensuring call lights are accessible, bed alarms are utilized appropriately, side rails are elevated, beds are positioned low, and seat belts are secured.
  • Measure and record patients' vital signs.
  • Monitor patients and report their conditions at regular intervals and before the end of your shift, promptly notifying the appropriate personnel of any concerning signs or symptoms.
  • Ensure precise documentation of observations and interventions in the medical records.
  • Respond swiftly to all call lights.
  • Assist patients with mobility and daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, eating, and other essential tasks.
  • Collect specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Provide basic patient transport services.
  • Perform basic housekeeping duties as required.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for both patients and staff.
  • Assist in preparing and cleaning patient rooms as necessary.
  • Participate in Purposeful Hourly Rounding and Bedside Shift Report as directed.
  • Carry out direct and indirect patient care tasks as assigned and may offer clerical support to the designated unit.
  • Maintain unit records and manage routine supply orders for the unit.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire or transfer into the role.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • One (1) year of experience in acute or long-term care settings.
  • Completion of an accredited CNA, PCT, or paramedic (EMT-P) program that includes BLS, or currently enrolled in nursing education.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
