Your Role
As a Key Account Manager (KAM), you will oversee the comprehensive commercial customer journey, which includes all relationship management and business development initiatives related to our automotive-focused portfolio of accounts within your designated area of responsibility.
Your Responsibilities
- Directly manage key accounts in alignment with established targets and company policies, identifying customer needs and promoting Kühne + Nagel's service offerings.
- Gain a deep understanding of the customer's organizational structure and decision-making processes.
- Analyze the customer's business model and competitive landscape.
- Negotiate pricing and service agreements with clients, ensuring all commercial stipulations are documented as required.
- Attain expert knowledge of Kühne + Nagel's vertical service offerings.
- Adhere to Kühne + Nagel's sales management protocols and ensure timely updates in our CRM system.
- Monitor monthly performance metrics (pipeline, wins, losses, RFP opportunities, financial aspects) against set objectives and take prompt action in case of discrepancies.
- Ensure an account plan is established based on the Key Account Planning Process and approved by the relevant sales manager.
- Facilitate the seamless transition of new business into operations to meet customer expectations and Kühne + Nagel's commitments.
- Conduct regular and structured review sessions with assigned clients to discuss continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.
Your Skills and Experiences
- Bachelor's degree in International Studies, Business, or Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
- At least 5 years of international experience.
- Leadership experience in direct and virtual settings for a minimum of 2 years.
- 5-10 years of experience in BU/FU Sales.
- 5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Proficient in consultative selling, negotiations, and persuasion.
- Broad knowledge of supply chain logistics (Air, Sea, Road, CL, IL).
- Proven track record in business development (up-selling and cross-selling, solutions-oriented approach).
- Capable of managing both internal and external stakeholders effectively.
- Competitive nature with a drive for success.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
