Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Surgical Technician/LPN to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our operating room team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the efficient operation of our department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver quality patient care in the operating room, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients.
  • Assist with the preparation of equipment and supplies required for surgical procedures, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Participate as a team member in the implementation of patient care plans, demonstrating a commitment to collaboration and communication.
  • Contribute to the productivity and efficient operation of the department, utilizing time management skills and minimizing errors.
  • Promote the Yale New Haven Health Quality Service Excellence Standards, maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to hospital policies.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served, adhering to unit policies and procedures.
  • Embody the values of Yale New Haven Health, including integrity, patient-centered care, respect, accountability, and compassion.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Surgical Technologist or Practical Nurse preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an operating room, with a proven track record of competent practice and a commitment to ongoing education.
  • Ability to perform scrub assistant responsibilities at an advanced level, with in-depth clinical experience and proficiency in a defined area of practice.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on collaboration and problem-solving.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
Working Conditions

May be exposed to infectious diseases, hazardous waste, and radiation. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
