Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations, including industry-specific standards.
- Risk Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive assessments of operational environments to identify potential hazards and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Emergency Preparedness: Design and implement emergency response protocols, conducting regular training and drills to ensure readiness.
- Environmental Oversight: Manage environmental compliance initiatives, focusing on waste management and pollution prevention.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate technical reviews and lead safety meetings with internal teams and external partners.
- Policy Development: Create and enforce health and safety policies, ensuring employee awareness and compliance.
- Incident Analysis: Investigate safety incidents, providing detailed analyses and recommendations for improvement.
- Training Coordination: Develop and deliver safety training programs to foster a culture of safety within the organization.
- Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary contact for regulatory agencies, maintaining positive relationships and ensuring compliance.
- Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and enhance environmental health and safety programs, integrating best practices and new technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Environmental Engineering or Occupational Health and Safety.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental health and safety within the aerospace or defense industries.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and standards.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and lead initiatives.
