Your Role: As a System Safety Engineer, you will be instrumental in upholding the highest safety standards across our operations. Your expertise will ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and guidelines, including MIL-STD-882.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of workplace environments to identify hazards and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Develop and execute emergency response plans, conducting drills to ensure readiness.
  • Environmental Oversight: Manage environmental compliance efforts, focusing on minimizing our ecological footprint.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Lead System Safety Working Group meetings and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Policy Development: Create and enforce health and safety policies, ensuring employee awareness and compliance.
  • Incident Analysis: Investigate incidents and near misses, providing root cause analysis and corrective action recommendations.
  • Training Coordination: Develop and deliver safety training programs to foster a culture of safety.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary contact for regulatory agencies, maintaining positive relationships.
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly assess and enhance EHS programs, integrating best practices and new technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the aerospace or defense sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and lead initiatives.
