Safety and Security Specialist:
Under the direct guidance of the Security Lead and/or Security Captain, the Safety and Security Specialist is a licensed professional responsible for safeguarding work environments, personnel, and assets against incidents such as unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, harassment, and other disruptive activities. This role involves executing assigned duties effectively.
Access management is a primary responsibility of this position, ensuring the safety and security of the facility.
The individual must adhere to established safety protocols, policies, and procedures.The general duties of the role include, but are not limited to, the following:
Work Schedule:
Urban/Mon-Fri; PTO Eligible or Rotational: 1 week on/1 week off
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 21 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent
Proficient in speaking, reading, understanding, and writing English
Valid driver's license.
Must possess a reliable personal vehicle for daily transportation.
State of Texas Level II Unarmed Security Guard License (or ability to obtain upon hire)
CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
1 year of experience in law enforcement, military police, corrections, or private security operations. Relevant military experience may substitute for law enforcement experience.
Must successfully complete the pre-employment screening process, including drug screening, criminal background check, and post-offer physical/fitness evaluation.
SKILLS/APTITUDESMaturity of judgment and conduct
Ability to present oneself in a highly professional manner, recognizing that honesty, integrity, and ethics are paramount.
Ability to communicate respectfully with all visitors, colleagues, vendors, supervisors, and clients.
Ability to provide clear instructions and respond appropriately.
Basic phone and computer skills (email, texting, two-way radio, etc.)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Understand and execute post orders, including the enforcement of client and company policies, rules, and regulations.
Protect property from damage, fire, theft, and unauthorized entry.
Conduct regular patrols of buildings and grounds, checking doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure.
Perform searches of individuals, vehicles, buildings, and other designated areas.Maintain courteous, respectful, and professional interactions with the public and clients.
Process visitors and issue access badges.
Monitor traffic and parking.
May operate and oversee CCTV systems.
May be required to assist in emergencies and disasters.
Maintain composure and control in all situations.
Effectively communicate over radio channels while initiating and responding to communications.
Interview individuals to identify violations and investigate disturbances, complaints, thefts, vandalism, and incidents. Report irregularities to management.
Prepare Daily Activity Reports and/or Incident Reports.
May assist management and law enforcement in emergencies, apprehending unauthorized individuals on the premises, etc.
Uphold high standards for work areas and personal appearance.
Comply with established dress code/uniform requirements.
Report all accidents and injuries promptly.
Maintain a constant state of alertness while working safely.
Ensure confidentiality and professionalism.
Participate in regular safety meetings, training, and hazard assessments.
Perform all duties in accordance with established safety and operational procedures.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Be available to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
Attend required training programs (both classroom and virtual) as designated.
May perform duties of a Security Officer/Reception or Lead Security Officer, as needed.
May undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
