Maintenance Operations Supervisor

The ideal candidate will oversee the maintenance operations within the organization, ensuring that all equipment is functioning optimally and efficiently.
POSITION OBJECTIVE
This role is pivotal in upholding the organization's policies and procedures across the facility. The supervisor will manage a team of maintenance technicians, setting a standard for safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise personnel responsible for the upkeep of production machinery and associated systems.
- Conduct root cause analysis for equipment malfunctions and implement effective solutions.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules with production planning and verify the completion of tasks.
- Evaluate maintenance requests, prioritize tasks based on urgency, and allocate technicians accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturing plans and customer specifications for all parts produced.
- Investigate any incidents or near misses to ensure thorough reporting and follow-up.
- Monitor scheduled maintenance to meet production demands while optimizing labor efficiency.
- Direct and manage maintenance operations across all shifts to minimize equipment downtime and enhance production output.
- Develop and maintain a robust machinery maintenance program, incorporating predictive and preventive strategies.
- Ensure high-quality repairs, effective scheduling, and adequate inventory of materials required for maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate closely with production and manufacturing teams to plan maintenance activities at suitable times.
- Organize and delegate tasks to maintenance staff, ensuring optimal use of labor, materials, and equipment.
- Maintain oversight of maintenance operations, providing guidance on best practices.
- Recruit and train maintenance personnel to build a capable workforce that meets both immediate and long-term goals.
- Assess employee performance and provide coaching to enhance work efficiency.
- Oversee the development and management of maintenance data systems, focusing on reporting delays, inventory management, equipment history, and cost tracking.
- Formulate short and long-term strategies regarding operational costs, labor needs, and equipment lifecycle management.
- Assist in the preparation and management of the annual maintenance budget.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 18 to 24 months of relevant process and project engineering experience, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
- Advanced technical expertise in hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems, including PLCs and instrumentation, with the ability to lead resource planning in a manufacturing context.
- Comprehensive understanding of maintenance systems, work order processes, and preventive/predictive maintenance methodologies.
- Proficient in problem-solving and troubleshooting high-level process issues; must be PC literate with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership capabilities, including conflict resolution, change management, decision-making, and delegation. Willingness to travel as needed.
