Overview

The selected candidate will oversee the maintenance operations within the organization, ensuring that all equipment is functioning optimally. This role requires a commitment to working Monday through Thursday from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for enforcing policies and procedures throughout the facility. This position supervises all maintenance personnel on the production floor, exemplifying best practices in safety, quality, productivity, continuous improvement, and employee relations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the team responsible for maintaining production machinery and associated systems.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules with production planning and verify the completion of tasks.
  • Manage maintenance requests, prioritize tasks based on urgency, and allocate technicians to work orders.
  • Ensure all components are manufactured according to the production plan and customer specifications.
  • Complete thorough investigations for any accidents or near misses.
  • Monitor scheduled tasks to meet customer demands while ensuring efficient labor management.
  • Handle attendance, overtime, and equitable distribution of overtime hours daily.
  • Direct and plan maintenance activities across all shifts to minimize equipment downtime and enhance production efficiency.
  • Develop and sustain a robust machinery maintenance program, incorporating predictive and preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Guarantee the quality of repairs, proper scheduling of maintenance work, accurate diagnosis of equipment issues, and availability of necessary materials and parts.
  • Collaborate closely with production control and manufacturing teams to schedule maintenance and repairs at optimal times.
  • Organize and delegate tasks to maintenance staff, leveraging their skills and experience for maximum efficiency.
  • Maintain vigilant oversight of maintenance operations, providing guidance on effective maintenance techniques.
  • Recruit and train maintenance personnel to ensure a capable workforce for both immediate and long-term objectives.
  • Assess employee performance and provide coaching to maintain high work standards.
  • Oversee the maintenance data systems, focusing on delay reporting, inventory management, equipment history, and maintenance cost tracking.
  • Formulate short and long-term plans concerning operational costs, labor needs, and equipment management.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget for maintenance operations and manage budget adherence throughout the year.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 18 to 24 months of relevant process and project engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced technical expertise in hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems (e.g., PLCs, instrumentation, mechanical engineering) with the ability to lead resource planning in a large manufacturing context.
  • Comprehensive understanding of maintenance systems, work order processes, and preventive/predictive maintenance methodologies.
  • Proficient in problem-solving and troubleshooting high-level process challenges. Must be PC literate with skills in Word and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, including conflict resolution, facilitation, change management, decision-making, empowerment, and delegation. Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Familiarity with industry policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Ability to lead and manage the work of other employees.
  • Possesses some authority regarding personnel decisions related to hiring, performance evaluations, or disciplinary actions.
