OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
The primary responsibility is to uphold company policies and procedures throughout the facility. The Maintenance Supervisor will lead a team of maintenance technicians on the production floor, exemplifying best practices in safety, quality, productivity, continuous improvement, and employee relations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise maintenance personnel tasked with the upkeep of production machinery and associated systems.
- Conduct root cause analysis for equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules with production planning and ensure thorough inspections of completed work.
- Manage maintenance requests, prioritize tasks based on urgency and resource availability, and allocate technicians to work orders.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturing plans and customer specifications for all parts produced.
- Oversee the accurate completion of accident or near-miss investigations.
- Monitor scheduled maintenance to align with customer demands and optimize labor efficiency.
- Direct and organize maintenance operations across all shifts to minimize equipment downtime and enhance production output.
- Develop and sustain an effective machinery maintenance program, focusing on predictive and preventive strategies.
- Guarantee the quality of repairs, timely scheduling of maintenance work, and adequate inventory of necessary materials and parts.
- Collaborate closely with production control and manufacturing teams to schedule maintenance and repairs at optimal times.
- Plan, organize, and delegate tasks to maintenance staff, ensuring the efficient use of labor, materials, and equipment in line with production and profitability goals.
- Maintain vigilant oversight of maintenance operations, providing guidance on proper maintenance techniques.
- Select and train maintenance personnel to ensure a capable workforce that meets both short-term and long-term objectives.
- Evaluate employee performance and provide coaching to maintain high standards of work efficiency.
- Oversee the development and management of maintenance data systems, including delay reporting, inventory management, equipment history, and cost tracking.
- Formulate short and long-term plans regarding operational costs, labor needs, and equipment lifecycle management.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget for maintenance operations and manage budget adherence throughout the fiscal year.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 18 to 24 months of relevant process and project engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced technical expertise in hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems, including PLCs and instrumentation, with the ability to lead resource planning in a large manufacturing setting.
- Comprehensive understanding of maintenance systems, work order processes, and preventive/predictive maintenance methodologies.
- Proficient in problem-solving and troubleshooting high-level process issues, with competency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership capabilities, including conflict resolution, facilitation, change management, decision-making, and delegation. Willingness to travel as necessary.
