Resident Engineer

Delon Hampton & Associates, a professional consulting engineering services firm, is seeking a talented and energetic Resident Engineer to join our team.
Job SummaryWe are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Resident Engineer to oversee the construction of a large-scale green infrastructure project in the District of Columbia. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and running construction meetings, overseeing field testing, and verifying project permits.
Responsibilities- Establish and run construction meetings with clients, contractors, and construction management staff
- Oversee required field testing and verify project permits
- Confirm completion of daily field reports and other progress reporting
- Review contractor's pay application and documentation for quantities of work performed
- Attend and document progress meetings and other meetings
- Perform review of contractor's baseline schedule and monthly progress update schedules
- Review submittals and RFIs
- Identify contract changes and determine if the contract change involves a change to the contract price or contract time
- Coordinate inspection and testing requirements and track resolution of deficiencies noted in reports
- Generate and coordinate the closeout punch list, including tracking the status of defective work and deficiency item corrections during the project closeout process
- A minimum of seven (7) years of construction management experience
- Familiarity with Primavera Unifier or other web-based construction management software
- Experience working on roadways in the District of Columbia
- Experience in green infrastructure, stormwater, sewer, or other utility construction
- Candidate must be a Professional Engineer (PE) in Washington, DC or have the ability to obtain a license by reciprocity
Work is primarily conducted in a general office environment 10% of the time. Field work is required 90% where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting may be required as needed.
