Job Title: Director of School Nursing

At Soliant, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of School Nursing to lead our nursing department and oversee the health services provided across our schools.

Job Summary:

The Director of School Nursing will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality health care services, developing and implementing health policies, and managing a team of school nurses. This role is essential in fostering a safe and healthy school environment that supports student well-being and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Health Services Program Development: Develop, implement, and oversee the district's health services program, including policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and support a team of school nurses and health aides, providing guidance, training, and professional development.
  • Student Health Coordination: Coordinate with school administrators, teachers, and parents to address and manage student health concerns and emergencies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with state and federal health regulations, including maintaining up-to-date medical records and reports.
  • Health Education: Develop and oversee health education programs for students, staff, and families on topics such as disease prevention, health promotion, and wellness.
  • Resource Management: Manage the budget for the health services department and allocate resources effectively.
  • Community Collaboration: Collaborate with local health agencies and community organizations to enhance health services and resources for students.
  • Program Evaluation: Conduct regular evaluations of health services and programs to ensure effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements.
Qualifications:
  • Nursing Experience: Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid Illinois nursing license; advanced certification in school nursing or a related field preferred.
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Nursing, Public Health, or a related field required; Masters degree preferred.
  • Leadership Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in school nursing or a related healthcare field, with at least two years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of school health regulations, immunization requirements, and health promotion practices. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with diverse groups of stakeholders.
