Position Summary
The Billing and Collections Specialist plays a crucial role in managing patient accounts and ensuring accurate third-party billing. This position involves diligent follow-up on outstanding accounts and the resolution of any discrepancies in accordance with company policies. The role may be performed onsite or remotely based on the candidate's location.
Key Responsibilities of a Billing and Collections Specialist
- Conduct comprehensive follow-up and collections efforts, including phone communications and accessing payer portals.
- Identify and analyze issues or trends, providing constructive feedback for resolution.
- Maintain detailed documentation of all collection activities undertaken.
- Review account details and utilize necessary systems to determine the next steps.
- Verify claims processing using appropriate resources and initiate contact with patients for additional information as required.
- Execute billing tasks, including manual re-bills and electronic submissions to payers.
- Ensure claims meet compliance standards for electronic submissions.
- Manage desk inventory, generate reports, and address high-priority and aged accounts.
- Engage in meetings, training sessions, and evaluations to enhance job knowledge and performance.
- Respond promptly to internal communications and escalate issues as necessary.
- Analyze correspondence to identify specific challenges and work towards effective solutions.
- Meet established productivity and quality benchmarks set by Rezolut.
- Participate in special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.
