Role Overview

The Data Analytics Specialist will be instrumental in pinpointing and cultivating optimal locations to deliver low-carbon energy to data centers and other significant electric consumers. This position involves the identification, quality assurance, and integration of extensive datasets that intersect the realms of real estate, energy, and digital infrastructure. Working closely with the development and GIS teams, the Data Analytics Specialist will leverage this data to generate actionable insights and recommendations.

This role reports directly to the Chief Technical Officer and is a full-time position that may involve occasional travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proven expertise in innovating and deriving insights from diverse data types, including unstructured data.
  • Identify innovation opportunities and spearhead strategic initiatives to bolster the company's data science capabilities.
  • Design and implement custom models and algorithms to extract significant insights regarding markets, project sites, economic factors, and strategic directions.
  • Conduct defined quantitative and/or qualitative research projects autonomously.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for analytical models.
  • Collaborate with development, GIS, and finance teams to identify, prioritize, and assess markets and sites.
  • Support scalable land acquisition initiatives and efforts.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape using maintained datasets and update findings accordingly.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Develop an industry-leading site selection methodology and analytical tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in data science, statistics, computer science, applied mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Strong proficiency in various analytical development tools, statistical methods, and programming languages.
  • Familiarity with geospatial datasets, GIS data, and mapping applications is preferred, or a strong willingness to learn.
  • Excellent communication skills coupled with a collaborative and proactive attitude.
