Job Description

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a SUPPLY CHAIN ANALYST to join our Business Management team. This position operates on a 9x80 schedule, allowing for every other Friday off. The successful candidate will oversee the procurement process, which includes drafting solicitation documents, assessing bids and proposals, analyzing market trends, selecting suitable suppliers, and negotiating terms related to pricing, delivery, quality, and service. You will report directly to the Procurement Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine and evaluate requisitions for material procurement to ensure comprehensive descriptions and necessary approvals are in place.
  • Identify the most suitable purchasing instrument (e.g., purchase orders, revisions, blanket purchase orders).
  • Primarily procure commercial goods and materials, while also initiating and managing straightforward fixed-price service acquisitions.
  • Possess the authority to commit the organization within a delegated limit by facilitating the issuance of purchase orders and subcontracts of varying complexity.
  • Engage suppliers and negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and other contractual terms. Assess suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Manage orders from award through to delivery, payment, and closure, including monitoring, expediting, and necessary follow-ups.
  • Coordinate the identification, specification, and sourcing of materials. Determine the appropriate contracting instrument and review requisition details, including specifications.
  • Address receiving and accounting discrepancies (open order tracking) and expedite supplier responses. Resolve issues related to order processing.
  • Establish strategic partnerships between customers and suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate documentation to support decisions, conclusions, findings, or recommendations.
  • Guide customers and suppliers in developing requisition documentation and addressing procurement-related concerns.
  • Participate in pre-procurement planning with programs to assist in requisition documentation development and support requestors.
  • May resolve material receiving discrepancies between supplier documentation, quality assurance, and purchase order requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Requirements:
  • Level 1: Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
  • Level 2: Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field with two years of relevant experience.
  • Experience relevant to the level of the position.

Compensation Information:

  • The salary range for this position is: Level 410 ($45,300 - $88,440) / Level 420 ($54,876 - $107,064). Compensation decisions are based on factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.

  • This is a multi-level posting, and placement will depend on the depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.
