Job Overview

Position Summary:

McCarthy & Holthus is in search of a dependable and skilled Commercial Property Maintenance Technician to enhance our Facilities Management team. This role is essential for maintaining the quality and functionality of our commercial properties. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse skill set in repair and maintenance tasks, demonstrating the ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and respond effectively to maintenance requests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute general maintenance duties, including drywall repairs, painting, flooring, and carpet installation.
  • Perform minor plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repairs, ensuring optimal operation of all systems.
  • Address repair requirements for doors, locks, windows, and other structural components.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and rectify issues proactively.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of building interiors and exteriors, including lobbies, restrooms, common areas, and outdoor environments.
  • Manage waste disposal, sweeping, mopping, power washing, and light landscaping activities.
  • Keep parking lots, walkways, and entrances clean and safe.
  • Monitor and replenish supplies in restrooms and communal areas as necessary.
  • Be available for emergency maintenance situations and respond promptly to urgent concerns.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of equipment for events and operational needs.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar position, ideally within a commercial property management context.
  • Proven ability to carry out tasks such as drywall repair, painting, flooring, and general maintenance services.
  • Experience with electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems is essential.
  • Proficient in using a variety of tools and power equipment.
  • Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical systems, and carpentry.
  • Ability to interpret and follow instructions and technical documentation.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Capability to provide references or examples of previous work.
  • Availability for emergency calls outside of standard working hours.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and transport items weighing up to 80 lbs.
  • Capacity to perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing ladders, bending, and working in various weather conditions.

Work Hours:

Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with availability for emergency calls outside of regular hours.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly Rate: $28.00, commensurate with experience.

Work Environment:
This role primarily involves working at various commercial properties, both indoors and outdoors. Occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary to address urgent maintenance needs.
