Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Grants Administrator II to join our Financial Services Division at the State of North Carolina. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring grants to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate the pre-award and post-grant process.
  • Provide technical assistance to grantees.
  • Monitor grants to ensure funds are expended in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Monitor grants to ensure expenditures are aligned with approved budget and scope of work.
  • Monitor the fiscal and programmatic performance of contracts.
  • Monitor to ensure grantees are in compliance with State and Federal requirements as well as with contract terms.
  • Compile and report financial and other contract data.
  • Prepare annual risk assessment on compliance for grants.
  • Maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, customers, grantees, administrators, and other outside entities affected by the business operations.
  • Create, evaluate, and update grants management and/or monitoring policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Considerable knowledge of the general principles of financial management and generally accepted accounting principles and/or grants administration practices.
  • Considerable knowledge of current federal and state government grant programs.
  • Considerable knowledge of technical and administrative rules and regulations in the subject area.
  • Experience with reviewing and documenting compliance with laws and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience auditing or monitoring State and/or Federal grants.
Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, or a related discipline from an accredited institution and 1 year of directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
