- Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience, with a general annual compensation range of $135,000 – $200,000.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise civil engineering design and construction phases of airport projects funded by federal, state, and local sources.
- Delegate, coordinate, and evaluate the work of engineers, consultants, contractors, and technical support personnel.
- Ensure compliance with design standards and regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and review specifications, bidding documents, contracts, and permit applications.
- Conduct preliminary cost assessments for construction projects and prepare necessary documentation for grants and budgets.
- Perform complex engineering calculations and evaluations.
- Assess qualifications of subconsultants and manage the proposal process.
- Lead meetings related to bidding, construction, and project progress.
- Conduct site inspections and present findings at relevant meetings.
- Address and resolve construction-related issues.
- Document project progress and manage budgets effectively.
- Review payment requests from contractors.
- Coordinate quality assurance testing and analyze results.
- Prepare and review change orders and pricing adjustments.
- Compile final reports for grant closure.
- Develop annual Capital Improvement Plans (CIPs) and budget estimates for various airport projects.
Qualifications:
- Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Must be a licensed professional engineer in North Carolina or South Carolina, or able to obtain reciprocity within three months.
- Experience: At least ten years of engineering experience in civil engineering project design or construction, with a preference for airport-related projects.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven track record of delivering projects on schedule and within budget. Strong knowledge of contract administration and compliance in public works projects, particularly in the aviation sector, is essential. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, along with the ability to foster productive relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies, are critical. Proficiency in AutoCAD, storm drainage design software, and FAA pavement design software, as well as familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, is required.
