Job Title:
Project Management Controls Analyst

We are currently seeking a Project Management Controls Analyst within our client's environmental engineering and science consulting firm. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 years of pertinent experience. This role is vital for the success of environmental initiatives.

This position will be accountable for proactively setting up, managing, and reporting on cost controls, performance metrics, risk assessments, and project timelines.

Based in Irvine, CA.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement cost and schedule work breakdown structures (WBS) and metrics, gather performance data (including labor hours and other progress indicators), monitor data, analyze earned value, productivity, and risk assessments, and communicate findings.
2. Maintain and update the project controls system and document management to ensure proper filing of documents and adherence to project procedures.
3. Prepare comprehensive weekly, monthly, or quarterly project control reports that encompass cost, schedule, risk, and quality metrics.
4. Generate financial reports including budget and contingency tracking, cost forecasting, and variance analysis of planned versus actual costs.
5. Produce scheduling reports that include near-term tracking, planned versus actual progress, and milestone variances.
6. Prepare and evaluate master project/program schedules, baseline schedules, progress schedules, specialty schedules, and project progress reports.
7. Provide or review schedule updates, create exception reports for schedule deviations, and suggest recovery strategies.
8. Develop cost estimates, including conceptual estimates, change order estimates, and other defined estimates.
9. Create cost report templates as necessary.
10. Offer administrative and document control support for project-related documentation.
11. Generate and deliver reports for project management (PM) staff to track project progress and status.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Mathematics, or Business.
- 6 or more years of relevant experience, encompassing project controls, project planning, project scheduling, and earned value performance, preferably in the civil engineering sector.
- PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office tools, particularly advanced use of MS Excel for creating and managing detailed, interactive spreadsheets, workbooks, and databases.
- Experience with Primavera P6 is essential.
- Familiarity with financial and accounting systems; Deltek Ajera experience is a plus.
- Expertise in project scheduling, cost engineering, and project controls methodologies and tools.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to engage and multitask with project team members, clients, and vendors.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a Project Controls team.
- Demonstrated capability to organize and prioritize tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
