Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to fill the role of KARE Center Staff Member. As a key member of our crisis and stabilization services team, you will play a vital role in providing a supportive and respectful environment for our residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Create a positive and supportive atmosphere in the center
  • Participate in the intake process, gathering required data and orienting residents to the center's expectations
  • Provide positive feedback and respect to residents, employing preventive teaching methods to avoid conflicts
  • Support residents in following through on their treatment plans, as determined by CIC and CSP staff
  • Admit residents referred to the KARE Center, requiring a medical screening prior to admission
  • Complete associated paperwork, file prescriptions and medical instructions, and document clinical information
  • Store and monitor self-administration of medication, record discharge data, and provide supervision of residents
  • Perform other duties as required by the Program Manager, including responding to crisis situations and providing support to residents

  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner, maintaining confidentiality and respecting the rights of participants, families, and staff
  • Problem-solve difficult situations in a timely manner, managing emotional consumer situations and responding promptly to needs
  • Give, receive, and act upon feedback from supervisors and co-workers, maintaining professional boundaries and cultural diversity
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience with AODA/Mental Health population a plus
  • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, both written and verbally
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license with good driving record
  • Ability to maintain records and document case notes daily
  • Ability to give and accept feedback as a part of a team
  • Ability to traverse within the workspace and community frequently, ascend/descend stairs, and transport at least 25 pounds
  • Willingness to learn and work with the treatment philosophies
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus
