Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a KARE Center Staff member. As a Crisis Intervention Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing supportive services to individuals in crisis, promoting a positive and respectful environment, and contributing to the overall success of our Crisis and Stabilization Services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Intake and Assessment: Participate in the intake process, gathering required data, orienting residents to center expectations, and informing them of their client rights.
  • Resident Support: Provide positive feedback and respect to residents, employ preventive teaching methods to avoid conflicts, and offer supportive listening and encouragement to follow treatment plans.
  • Admissions and Discharge: Admit residents referred to the KARE Center, complete associated paperwork, store and monitor medication, and record discharge data and circumstances.
  • Supervision and Safety: Provide supervision of KARE Center residents, perform hourly bed checks, monitor medical and emotional status, and arrange emergency care when necessary.
  • Training and Development: Participate in scheduled training sessions, give and receive feedback, and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Experience with AODA/Mental Health population a plus.
  • Communication: Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, in the English language.
  • Transportation: Must have reliable transportation and valid driver's license with good driving record.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to traverse within the workspace and community frequently, ascend/descend stairs, and transport at least 25 pounds.
