JOB DESCRIPTION :
The Senior Financial Analyst role is designed to deliver comprehensive Financial Management Services to the Headquarters Marine Corps (HQMC).

Responsibilities encompass outlining operational processes, drafting strategic policies, and providing audit, advisory, and assistance services. The position also involves enhancing business processes and supporting financial reporting to facilitate training and guidance for personnel on accounting systems and interface utilization; construction of appropriation data; and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial information for effective decision-making and funds management to achieve audit readiness.

Key duties and expectations include, but are not limited to the following:

In-depth understanding of SABRS/SMARTS reports and tools to analyze historical financial transactions and identify discrepancies that may arise during the transition to the Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI), which will function as the official accounting system for the Marine Corps.

Familiarity with DAI is advantageous.

Accountable for the timely submission and certification of Dormant Accounts Review – Quarterly (DAR-Q) records and assisting unit testers with appropriate validation.

Knowledge of SPARTA/ARC Tool and audit KSDs to prepare and submit completed audit packages within designated timeframes.

Formulate Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) within the Manager's Internal Control Program (MICP) following the evaluation of audit submissions and other business process areas and risk assessments.

Identify trends and process enhancements through the analysis of Key Supply and Financial Performance indicators.

Provide training to using units on accounting and logistics systems and interface utilization, as well as procedures necessary to ensure accurate and timely financial information for decision-making and funds management to achieve audit readiness.

Collaborate as part of a team consisting of Active-Duty personnel, Civil Service employees, and contractors to deliver tailored solutions to the client.


CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS :
Secret or ability to achieve

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor's Degree preferred not required

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :
CDFM / CGFM / DoD FM preferred not required

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
Approximately 7-10 years of experience at a using unit in logistics and financial management.

General working knowledge of the following systems and associated reports:
GCSS-MC, SYNCADA, DTS, G-Invoicing, PIEE/WAWF, MICRR, TLCM-OST, WebVLips, CEDMS, LDG, STORES, EEBP, and DMLSS.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
Travel required at least two weeks per year.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
Ability to multi-task and employ problem-solving skills.
