As the Senior Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Analyst for the European division, you will oversee the formulation, reporting, and reconciliation of the annual financial forecasting cycle.
Collaborating closely with team members across sales, marketing, and supply chain functions, you will facilitate the development of comprehensive and insightful brand and customer strategies aimed at enhancing key performance indicators such as sales growth, gross margin improvement, and operating profit maximization.
This position entails working in partnership with commercial teams on various financial analytical projects, including customer and product profitability assessments, inventory portfolio evaluations, pricing strategies, innovation initiatives, and seasonal marketing campaigns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Forecasting: Plan, develop, and present the financial outlook for the European Business (40%).
Collaborate with the demand planning team to create monthly volume forecasts with detailed granularity at the brand, SKU product, channel, and customer levels. Transform volume into a sales forecast that incorporates foreign exchange, pricing strategies, channel mix, and new product introductions.
- Performance Reporting: Generate a comprehensive monthly/quarterly reporting package to deliver insights on financial performance (25%).
Engage with the Accounting & Controls team to ensure the execution and approval of monthly and quarterly closing activities. Publish a financial report focused on key performance indicators, including month, quarter-to-date, and year-to-date analyses.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct product and customer profitability analyses, innovation assessments, channel evaluations, supply chain reviews, and pricing initiatives (15%).
Create profitability statements for brands, products, and customers, ensuring accurate data input from cross-functional teams. Present insights and opportunities to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
- System Transformation: Manage the reconciliation of two reporting systems during the transition phase (20%).
Demonstrate proficiency with SAP S/4 Hana and adapt to new financial systems while supporting change management efforts.
Qualifications:
Experience: A minimum of 5 years in finance and/or accounting, with at least 3 years in FP&A. A strong grasp of internal controls and experience in enhancing internal control systems is essential. Experience in a global multinational FMCG environment is preferred, along with eCommerce exposure.
Skills: Proficient in financial systems such as NetSuite ERP and Concur, as well as reporting tools like SAP Frior, SAC, and AFO. Advanced financial modeling and Excel skills are required.
Education: A primary university degree in Business, Finance, or Economics is preferred. Professional finance certification (CIMA/CGMA) and a postgraduate business degree (e.g., MBA) are advantageous.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication abilities to convey financial concepts and results to senior management and non-financial audiences. Proven leadership and project management skills with a solution-oriented mindset are essential.
Work Environment: Hybrid work model with flexibility in office and remote work arrangements.
