On-Site Equipment Service Technician

A Field Project Technician is responsible for overseeing all on-site installations, repairs, maintenance, and testing tasks. This role involves diagnosing errors or technical issues and determining appropriate solutions. The technician also provides essential service and customer support during field visits and dispatches.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses various types of equipment to ensure optimal functionality on-site or in the workshop.
- Conducts routine maintenance, including equipment cleaning and safety inspections.
- Inspects, diagnoses, repairs, and adjusts heavy machinery as necessary, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately.
- Participates in training programs as directed by the Service Manager.
- Reports any tools, equipment, or vehicles that are unsafe or not in working condition to the Service Manager.
- Maintains tools in compliance with MSHA and OSHA regulations.
- Performs basic computer tasks such as completing work orders and looking up parts.
- Communicates effectively with colleagues and customers to ensure high-quality equipment availability and exceed customer expectations.
- Provides service and customer support during field visits or dispatches.
- Aligns workflow with scheduling requirements.
- Manages all on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and testing tasks.
- Diagnoses technical problems and identifies suitable solutions.
- Generates timely and detailed service reports.
- Operates vehicles safely and utilizes field automation systems.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
- Collaborates with the technical team and shares relevant information across the organization.
- Understands customer needs and provides appropriate recommendations.
- Builds positive relationships with clients.
- Demonstrates strong teamwork.

Required Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction machinery.
- Demonstrated field service experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment.
- Must possess personal tools and a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts.
Military service may be considered in lieu of education or certification experience as applicable.
Work Environment
- Work environment is typical of construction, heavy equipment, and repair facilities.
- May involve working in extreme conditions at job sites.
- Position may require extensive driving to various job locations.
Physical Requirements
Must be physically capable of working in a job site environment for extended periods, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, squatting, crouching, and reaching. Must be able to work in extreme conditions at job sites. Night and weekend on-call work may be required.
