Key Responsibilities:
- Select appropriate electrode configurations (montages) to capture accurate recordings, identifying and addressing artifacts as necessary.
- Monitor additional parameters such as electromyograms, electrocardiograms, electro-oculograms, and respiration using the same equipment.
- Utilize video recording equipment to observe patients, ensuring precise alignment of EEG and video recordings while checking focus, lighting, and audio quality.
- Prepare patients for continuous monitoring at the bedside with video, instructing nursing staff on the use of event buttons and video care.
- Gather relevant information from patients' clinical records and seek additional details as needed.
Education Requirements:
Associate's Degree in Electroneurodiagnostics or a related healthcare field.
Certification:
Technologists must successfully achieve the ABRET (American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists) credential for R. EEG T. (Registered EEG Technologist) within two years of employment.
Work Experience:
Minimum of one year as a non-registered EEG Technician. Two years of direct patient care experience may substitute for the Associate's Degree requirement.
Physical Requirements:
Manual dexterity for precise electrode placement and operation of recording equipment. Ability to maneuver EEG machines weighing up to 320 pounds and Evoked Potential machines weighing up to 420 pounds. Requires corrected hearing and vision within normal ranges. May involve exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.

Adhere to standard precautions and utilize personal protective equipment as necessary.
