About the Job

The Johnson Controls Commercial Sales Manager leads a team of sales representatives focused on exceeding revenue expectations in the security systems industry. This role involves managing business development, territory management, and executing corporate sales strategies while ensuring team profitability and customer retention.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage business development and territory management to drive revenue growth.
  2. Execute corporate sales strategies to meet budgeted revenue expectations.
  3. BUILD AND RETAIN AN EFFECTIVE TEAM OF SALES REPRESENTATIVES.
  4. Set sales territory expectations for each sales representative, including customer touch expectations and quota achievement.
  5. Measure the activities of each sales representative to ensure marketing activities produce intended sales production.
  6. Implement and execute the company's marketing strategy and business plans.
  7. Work with National Account Managers to secure National Account business.

Requirements

  • A college degree in business, marketing, or a related field, or comparable work experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of sales experience, including 3 years of field sales management experience in a business-to-business environment, or successful management of another sales channel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, follow-up, and organizational skills.
  • Organizational agility, ability to effectively interact with internal organizations and customer organizations at senior executive and field levels.
  • Functional/technical skills in leading a sales organization comprised of diverse team members.
  • Ability to work in a matrix structure, dealing with conflict resolution issues, exercising managerial courage as appropriate, and interpersonal savvy.
  • Action-oriented, results-driven, managing & measuring team results.
  • Financial business acumen, forecasting, and P&L experience.
  • Ability to travel nights and weekends to accommodate the customer's agenda.

Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
