Service Engineer for Field Operations

Position Summary:
The Field Service Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency of equipment at client sites. This position requires expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems to effectively install, troubleshoot, and maintain machinery across various locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and execute installations, ensuring compliance with specifications while servicing machinery at client facilities.
- Assemble and integrate electrical and electromechanical components, utilizing hand tools and testing instruments.
- Conduct inspections and diagnostics to identify issues and implement repairs in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
- Manage the repair of malfunctioning machinery, ensuring minimal disruption to client operations.
- Adapt existing equipment to ensure compatibility with new installations or modifications.
- Propose enhancements and upgrades to existing systems where applicable.
- Install and configure equipment, wiring, or software to meet precise specifications.
- Establish preventative maintenance schedules and determine necessary maintenance actions.
- Perform tests to verify that equipment and software are functioning as intended.
- Collaborate with clients and engineering teams to address design and operational challenges.
- Engage in debugging and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) to familiarize with machine functionality.
- Run trial operations at client sites to confirm that performance meets established standards.
- Consult with client representatives to identify optimal machine operation methods for specific applications.
- Provide training to client personnel on the operation, adjustment, and maintenance of machinery.
- Assist in identifying training needs and contribute to the development of tailored training programs.
- Travel as necessary to fulfill job requirements.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Ability to meet security clearance requirements and pass background checks for access to secure client facilities.
- Experience in the installation and configuration of equipment, machinery, wiring, or software.
Preferred:
- Associate's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience demonstrating technical proficiency.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks software.
- A minimum of five years' experience in the installation and servicing of complex industrial systems.
- Comprehensive knowledge of industrial control hardware and software, tool and die operations, welding, hydraulic systems, and mechanical engineering.
- Proficient in using Windows-based personal computers and relevant software applications.
- Capability to program industrial control hardware, including PLCs and data acquisition systems.
- Ability to conduct complex analyses, manage diverse tasks, and demonstrate strong leadership skills.
- Represent the organization in a professional and positive manner.
- Develop and prioritize work plans effectively.
- Manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Effectively instruct client operators and repair technicians.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
