About the Role

Tate, Inc. is a leading provider of innovative solutions for the built environment. We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in a new manufacturing facility in Virginia.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing company, working closely with our Product Design Engineering, Project Management, and Manufacturing teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and create fabrication drawings and machine programming using 3D CAD packages such as SolidWorks.
  • Implement improved methods of fabrication and manufacturing processes.
  • Support product sourcing, purchasing, and selection as required by the design process.
  • Provide technical and engineering support for day-to-day processing and process improvements.
  • Confirm system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods and properties.
  • Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
  • Assure system and product quality by designing testing methods, testing finished product and system capabilities, and confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
  • Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Participate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, and codes.
  • Design parts, components, and assemblies to meet requirements of assigned projects.
  • Maintain awareness of individual contribution to and impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; report all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the proper personnel.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
  • 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Availability to travel, domestically and internationally, at least 25% of the year.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD modeling, drawings, and machine design with experience in design analyses.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Hands-on experience with automated manufacturing equipment is desired.
