Job Overview

The Specialty Manufacturing Company is seeking a proficient Engineering Technician to enhance our Engineering division. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with Design Engineers, the Production team, and the Continuous Improvement team to conduct product testing and validations. This role is pivotal in ensuring manufacturing efficiency and product compliance.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate and effective test results and analyses.
  • Develop and update reports and documentation utilizing spreadsheets, graphs, and test results.
  • Assist in manufacturing processes by creating reliable, repeatable, and cost-effective procedures in alignment with planned schedules.
  • Work independently on moderately complex assignments.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Engineering to establish priorities, plans, and schedules for timely task execution.
  • Design and validate mechanical testing fixtures necessary for product evaluations.
  • Manage multiple assignments according to established priorities.
  • Familiarize oneself with and maintain awareness of company products and objectives.
  • Ensure effective communication and foster strong working relationships with colleagues.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
Education:
· A two-year degree in mechanical, engineering, industrial, or a related technology is highly preferred.
  • High school diploma with relevant experience is acceptable.
Experience:
  • Three to ten years of experience with mechanical systems.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Understanding of fundamental design principles (machine design, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of design drawings.
  • Proficient understanding of basic measurement tools and mechanical aptitude.
  • Familiarity with SPC, DOE, FMEA, and SPC methodologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as manufacturing enterprise software.
  • Experience with CAD software (Solid Works) is advantageous.
  • Self-motivated with a strong inclination for problem-solving.
Physical Requirements:
  • Work in various environments including test labs, offices, machining, and manufacturing settings.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, walk, stand, reach, and bend.
  • Work must be conducted on-site during standard business hours.
