Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Associate to join our growing operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting daily laboratory operations by performing a variety of technical and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sample Accessioning: Receive, verify, and log incoming specimens according to established protocols, ensuring accurate labeling and documentation of samples.
  • Plasma Pooling: Assist in the process of plasma pooling, following standard operating procedures, and maintain accurate records of pooled samples.
  • Workstation and Samples Setup: Safely and efficiently thaw biological samples as required for laboratory testing, monitor thawing processes, and prepare and organize workstations with necessary equipment, reagents, and supplies.
  • Quality Control: Participate in routine quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results, and report any deviations or issues immediately to the Laboratory Supervisor/Manager.
  • Laboratory Maintenance: Assist with general laboratory maintenance tasks, including cleaning and maintenance of simple equipment and work areas, and monitor inventory levels of supplies and reagents.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred; familiarity with laboratory equipment and procedures is an asset.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in basic computer applications.
Working Conditions:

The work is performed in a clinical laboratory setting, and the successful candidate will be exposed to biological samples and hazardous materials; appropriate safety measures must be followed.
