Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Novant Health. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in the procurement of blood and analytical evaluation of blood and other body fluids.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procure specimens and perform waived, moderately complex, and highly complex laboratory analysis on blood and other body fluids.
  • Perform instrument maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Conduct quality control and proficiency testing procedures.
  • Assist Medical Technologists with investigating problems and unusual situations, and recommend solutions.
  • Utilize Medical Center and laboratory computer systems in the performance of daily tasks.
  • Participate in the Education Program to ensure the highest degree of competency within the established scope of patient care.
  • Assist in the implementation of new methodologies and procedures.
  • Participate in the implementation of and compliance with standards set by the Medical Center and regulatory/accrediting agencies.
  • Interface with Medical Center personnel, physicians, and staff from other facilities relative to test results.
  • Maintain an adequate level of reagents/supplies to perform testing.
  • Provide assistance to other staff as needed.
  • Generate appropriate and required documentation of testing and support procedures.
Requirements
  • Med Lab Tech certification or eligibility for certification within 12 months of start date.
  • Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field.
