Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Novant Health. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a full range of laboratory tests, including quality control checks and troubleshooting of instrumentation.
  • Collect, process, and test specimens, and report results to medical staff.
  • Assist in the evaluation of new or modified techniques and procedures.
  • Advise and assist in the orientation and training of other personnel on equipment and software.
  • Develop and maintain department quality assurance and establish effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and hospital staff.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Associate degree in chemical, physical, or biological science, or medical laboratory, or equivalent education or training, required.
  • One year experience as a laboratory technician, preferred.
  • MLT certification (or eligible) from ASCP or AMT, required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • New graduates and new hires must obtain certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Knowledge of current medical terminology and laboratory equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand information about instrumentation and follow written protocols.
