Position Summary:
The role involves planning layouts, installing, and repairing wiring, apparatus, and control equipment through the following responsibilities:

  • Installation and repair of wiring, apparatus, and control equipment.
  • Measuring, cutting, bending, assembling, and installing electrical conduit.
  • Splicing wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads and soldering wires together.
  • Connecting wiring to panel boxes and installing switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
  • Connecting power cables to equipment and installing grounding leads.
  • Pulling wiring through conduits.

Essential Duties:
Perform wiring for standard, medium, and complex panels, including:

  • Transformer wiring.
  • Tie-in compressor panels.
  • Wiring for defrost systems.
  • Wiring lights, receptacles, fire-stats, and thermostats.

Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills:
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence. Capable of speaking effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
