SUMMARY This role involves planning layouts, installing, and repairing wiring, apparatus, and control equipment through the following responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
  • Measuring, cutting, bending, assembling, and installing electrical conduit.
  • Splicing wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads and soldering wires together.
  • Connecting wiring to panel boxes.
  • Installing switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
  • Connecting power cables to equipment and installing grounding leads.
  • Pulling wiring through conduits.
  • Performing wiring for standard, medium, and complex panels.
  • Transformer wiring.
  • Wire defrost.
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE A high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence. Capable of effectively communicating before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Competent in computing rates, ratios, and percentages, as well as drawing and interpreting bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Capable of addressing problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
