POSITION SUMMARY
As an Electrical Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for planning layouts, installing, and repairing wiring, apparatus, and control equipment. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Installing and repairing wiring, apparatus, and control equipment.
  • Measuring, cutting, bending, assembling, and installing electrical conduit.
  • Splicing wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads and soldering them together.
  • Connecting wiring to panel boxes and installing switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
  • Connecting power cables to equipment and installing grounding leads.
  • Pulling wiring through conduits and performing wiring of standard, medium, and complex panels.
  • Executing transformer wiring and tie-in compressor panels.
  • Wiring defrost systems, lights, receptacles, fire-stats, and thermostats.

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required, along with three to six months of related experience and/or training, or a combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Proficiency in writing routine reports and correspondence is essential, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with groups of customers or employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Competence in basic arithmetic operations and the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages is necessary.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form, and to address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands of this role require regular standing, using hands to handle or feel, and reaching with hands and arms. Frequent walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling is also required. The ability to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds is essential.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employees may occasionally be exposed to the risk of electrical shock, and the noise level in the work environment is typically loud.
