Assistant Banking Center Manager

The Assistant Banking Center Manager is a key role in Midland States Bank, responsible for individual business development goals and assisting with managing the sales and operations of the Banking Center. This position works in conjunction with the Banking Center Manager to ensure implementation of policies and programs, in order to achieve company objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Coaches Bankers and Tellers on identifying and meeting the needs of existing and prospective customers, including answering inquiries regarding accounts and consumer loan balances, opening new accounts, and handling customer complaints.
- Proactively sells banking services to retail customers and develops current and prospective business clients.
- Assists in the training, coaching, and motivation of staff to cross-sell bank products and services and deepen customer relationships.
- Supports portfolio growth by identifying cross-sell opportunities and displaying sales leadership.
- Delivers quality customer service through personal contact with customer prospects and adherence to approved quality standards.
- Provides timely, candid, and constructive performance feedback through weekly check-ins, huddle meetings, individual coaching, and observation sessions.
- Assists the Banking Center Manager in ensuring effective utilization and scheduling of staff and timesheet approval.
- Communicates effectively and possesses strong leadership skills to direct and coach Retail staff.
- Drives sales through quality service and product knowledge, achieving or exceeding personal and team goals as set.
- Tracks and monitors sales and opportunities in customer information software.
- Confidently recommends personal products, trusts, HSAs, IRAs, business products, and services.
- Participates in onsite visits to customers to promote Employee Perks at Work Program & Merchant Services.
- Accurately processes customer transactions, balances, and safeguards against fraud.
- Proficient in profiling and referring to banking partners utilizing skills obtained through internal sales training courses.
- Strong decision-making skills and ability to conduct sales activities.
- Participates in outbound teleconsulting to promote and expand current client relationships on a daily basis.
- Participates in bank-sponsored community activities.
- Trains and mentors new hires on the teller and/or banker system.
- Timely completion of all assigned learning activities.
- Achieves or exceeds personal and team goals as set.
- Actively participates in weekly huddles and one-on-one coaching sessions.
- Serves as relief and/or backup ABCM in other locations of Midland States Bank.
- Demonstrates and models Midland States Bank core values that support the bank's culture.
- The role requires occasional travel for training and team meetings, and willingness to travel periodically, to locations within the market as needed.
- May require work in a Midland office to ensure collaboration and support of internal and external customers.
- Maintains compliance with all applicable regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
- 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Broad knowledge of bank systems, consumer loans, and deposit accounts.
- Cash handling and customer service background.
- Proven sales experience.
- National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration under the terms of the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008.
