Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Banquet Sous Chef to join our team at Concord Hospitality. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of high-quality food and beverages for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Training and Development: Provide guidance and training to kitchen staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively.
  • Scheduling and Staff Management: Create and manage schedules for kitchen staff, evaluate their performance, and provide feedback and coaching as needed.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Foster open and effective communication between management and staff, and work collaboratively with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Disciplinary Action and Performance Management: Write and present disciplinary action as needed, and work with staff to develop and implement performance improvement plans.
  • Equipment and Supplies: Ensure that kitchen staff have the necessary tools and equipment to perform their duties effectively.
  • Problem-Solving and Quality Control: Identify and address problems in the kitchen, and work to ensure that all food served meets high quality standards.
  • Meetings and Reporting: Participate in regular meetings with the culinary team, and provide regular reports on kitchen performance and operations.
  • Menu Development and Presentation: Assist in the development and presentation of menu items, and ensure that all menu items are prepared and presented to the highest standards.
  • Payroll and Administrative Tasks: Ensure that payroll hours are submitted to the accounting department in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience as a sous chef or equivalent position in a high-volume food service environment.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Proven ability to lead and manage a team, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong commitment to quality and customer service.
