Job Overview

The Security Officer is responsible for the proactive surveillance and immediate response to potential or actual security threats within the facility. This role involves investigating and managing all security-related incidents and hazards that may arise on the premises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts regular monitoring to identify and address security risks.
  • Investigates security incidents and implements appropriate measures to mitigate hazards.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of policies and procedures related to alarms and emergency preparedness.
  • Facilitates scheduled drills and simulations to ensure readiness for emergencies.
  • Provides guidance and assistance to staff and visitors to enhance their safety while on-site.

Educational Requirements:

A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred for the position of Security Guard. A High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory for the Security/Medical Specialist role.

Essential Skills:

The position requires strong critical thinking abilities, decisive judgment, and the capacity to operate with minimal supervision. Candidates must be capable of functioning effectively in high-pressure situations and taking appropriate actions as necessary.

Certifications:

  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required for Security Guard and Security/Medical Specialist roles within 30 days of employment.
  • American Heart Association First Aid certification is required for Security Guard within 30 days of employment.
  • Handle With Care training is required for both Security Guard and Security/Medical Specialist within 6 months of employment.

Licensure:

Current North Carolina Nursing Assistant or EMT licensure is required exclusively for the Security/Medical Specialist position.
