The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe environment by actively monitoring and responding to security threats in a timely manner. This role involves investigating and managing all security-related incidents and hazards within the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct proactive surveillance and respond effectively to potential security breaches.
- Investigate security incidents and implement appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
- Stay informed about and adhere to policies and procedures related to alarms and emergency preparedness.
- Facilitate regular drills and simulations to ensure readiness for emergencies.
- Provide guidance and assistance to staff and visitors to enhance safety on the premises.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred for the Security Guard position.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory for the Security/Medical Specialist role.
Essential Skills:
- Demonstrated critical thinking abilities and sound judgment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Capacity to perform effectively in high-pressure situations.
Certifications Required:
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required for both Security Guard and Security/Medical Specialist roles within 30 days of employment.
- American Heart Association First Aid certification is necessary for Security Guard within 30 days of employment.
- Handle With Care training is required for both positions within 6 months of employment.
Licensure:
- Current North Carolina Nursing Assistant or EMT licensure is required exclusively for the Security/Medical Specialist role.
