Job Summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Security Officer to join our team. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and respond to potential and actual security threats in a proactive and timely manner.
  • Investigate and manage all security incidents and hazards on the premises, ensuring a thorough and prompt resolution.
  • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans.
  • Facilitate planned drills and simulations to ensure preparedness and effectiveness.
  • Provide information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote their safety on the premises.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred for Security Guard.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required for Security/Medical Specialist.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required for Security Guard and Security/Medical Specialist within 30 days of hire.
  • American Heart Association First Aid certification required for Security Guard within 30 days of hire.
  • Handle With Care certification required for Security Guard and Security/Medical Specialist within 6 months of hire.
  • Current North Carolina Nursing Assistant or EMT licensure required for Security/Medical Specialist only.
