Medical Billing Quality Analyst

The Document Processing Specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing the quality and efficiency of our invoice and medical bill processing for clients. Responsibilities may include collecting, receiving, and preparing customer correspondence for scanning; utilizing high-speed scanners for document imaging; conducting quality assessments on data records linked to documents; managing electronic documents in accordance with our product standards; ensuring the successful delivery of processed work to clients; and making outbound calls to medical providers for demographic verification.
This position operates in a hybrid work environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accurately identifying and indexing incoming faxes to the correct files in a timely manner Scanning physical documents and completing the imaging workflow Following established document destruction protocols Complying with HIPAA and other sensitive data regulations and policies Processing information by compiling, coding, categorizing, and verifying data Photocopying original two-sided documents to create single-sided versions Opening and sorting incoming paper correspondence Classifying documents or electronic content based on characteristics such as type and function Retrieving images as needed Safely operating data capture equipment Utilizing data capture technology to import digitized documents into the document management system Searching electronic databases or manual sources for required information Adhering to established procedures and knowing when to escalate issues for higher review Managing high volumes of work while meeting quality, productivity, and timeliness standards Performing additional duties as assignedREQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team Attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective time management Adaptability: capable of learning and adjusting to new conditionsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED required Preferred: Six months of experience in a service-oriented office or customer service role For specific departments: valid driver's license and clean DMV record may be required For certain roles: comfort with making regular outbound business calls for demographic verificationCOMPENSATION:
CorVel employs a market-based approach to compensation, with salary ranges varying by location. Pay rates are determined by factors such as federal, state, and local minimum wage laws, geographic differentials, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and market conditions. Salary ranges may be adjusted at any time.
For roles with different levels (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.), new hires may be assigned to a different level based on an assessment during the interview process, which considers experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the position. This level may influence the salary range, and adjustments will be clarified during the offer process.
Pay Rate: $22.36 per hour
