Position: Junior Audio Visual Systems Engineer with Video Teleconferencing Expertise

Location: NMR Consulting

Sign-on Bonus: $10,000

Clearance: Active Secret clearance required; TS or TS/SCI preferred

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the upkeep of audio/video and conferencing-specific hardware, software, and peripherals, including projection systems, flat panel displays, audio digital signal processors, control system processors, and telepresence codecs.
  • Develop, modify, troubleshoot, and maintain control system source code.
  • Facilitate A/V operations and video teleconferencing support.
  • Utilize incident management tools for all maintenance activities.
  • Ensure A/V equipment complies with Information Assurance guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to collaboration and business applications.
  • Provide preventative maintenance services following the agency's established protocols and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Plan and manage installations, including design, implementation, and testing of video conferencing equipment.
  • Execute configuration management plans and procedures.
  • Maintain collaboration systems and associated VTC peripheral equipment for temporary venues.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend new solutions.
  • Prepare and submit necessary documentation for the DOD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process.
Relevant Certifications:
  • CEDIA Certification is advantageous.
  • CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D Certification is a plus.
  • AMX ACE certification is beneficial.
Qualifications:
  • Applicants must undergo a government security investigation and meet eligibility for classified information access.
  • A high school diploma is required; an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in the audio visual industry is necessary.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Meticulous and organized working style is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of installation, operation, maintenance, and support of audio/visual equipment, desktop, and conference room VTC systems.
  • Familiarity with video projection and display equipment, digital video processing, and audio equipment.
  • Understanding of AV concepts, including acoustics and lighting.
  • Knowledge of TEMPEST standards and information assurance concerns.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Experience with CAD programs such as AutoCAD or Visio is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office products is necessary.
  • Experience with Tandberg/Cisco systems and control system programming (AMX and/or Extron) is advantageous.
  • Understanding of computer network configuration is beneficial.
