Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Majordomo Meat & Fish. The successful candidate will assist in managing the kitchen, ensuring efficient service, and contributing to the creation of new menu items. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and talented individual to grow and develop their career in a dynamic and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain kitchen operating procedures to ensure high standards of quality and service.
  • Manage and train kitchen staff, including mentoring, disciplining, and evaluating performance.
  • Support and manage prep for service, ensuring all recipes and ingredients meet restaurant standards.
  • Oversee the line during service, monitoring cooks' progress and flow of food to maintain service standards.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu creations and daily specials.
  • Assist in interviewing, selecting, and onboarding new kitchen staff.
  • Monitor the receiving of all products to ensure they meet restaurant standards.
  • Develop new menu items in partnership with the Executive Chef and CDC, ensuring proper execution and roll-out.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of high-volume, upscale experience required.
  • 2 years of management experience required.
  • Experience with back-of-house administrative and managerial duties a must.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Proven ability to teach and mentor kitchen staff.
  • Exceptional communication and supervisory skills.
Physical Demands
  • The physical demands for this position include seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours.
