Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technology Support Services Analyst to join our team at Prairie State College. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for our college's technology infrastructure, including hardware and software systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and work independently with excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Configure and analyze technology hardware and software to assist in problem recognition, prevention, and resolution.
  • Provide hardware and software support to end-users, maintain technology equipment, and ensure consistency across facilities.
  • Assist with maintenance and documentation, inventory, and backup of College technology.
  • Perform investigation, recommendation, and pricing of technology hardware and software based on end-user needs and requirements.
  • Provide support in the operation of peripheral equipment to end-users.
  • Apply logic and critical thinking to the process of initiating, monitoring, and interpreting computer production.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and abreast of latest industry software and available updates to avoid future interruptions of service to end-users.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the College's production systems, hardware, software, and applications to resolve customer problems.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge and documents problems utilizing the Problem Management online system.
  • Develop and maintain technology support documentation and provide end-user training.
  • Establish and maintain a professional working relationship with user community, students, faculty, vendors, co-workers, and administration.
  • Serve as lead worker to entry-level staff and/or department student/part-time interns or assistants.
Requirements
  • Associate degree or equivalent college coursework (60 hours) with one-year work experience with currently supported Windows and Macintosh operating systems and microcomputer hardware in a network environment.
  • High School diploma and 3 years of job-related experience, including one-year work experience with currently supported Windows and MacIntosh operating systems and microcomputer hardware in a network environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer applications, Windows software, hardware, and networked environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently after initial instructions with high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or degree candidate in information systems or computer science.
  • A+ certification.
  • Network+ certification.
  • Other computer certifications.
Work Environment

The work environment is a fast-paced and dynamic setting with a focus on providing excellent customer service and technical support. The successful candidate will be required to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is commensurate with experience, with a minimum starting salary of $52,465. The College offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 403(b) retirement plan.
