Job Summary

The Digital Merchandising Manager plays a key role in delivering ecommerce business results and is responsible for improving sales, profitability, and inventory performance across owned and retailer digital channels. This position reports to the Global Director of Ecommerce and works closely with US product, operations, marketing, and content teams to create and execute a digital merchandising plan encompassing assortment, taxonomy, content, and promotional opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Optimize Ecommerce Content
    • Own digital catalog management (PIM) and curation for syndicating product content to partners.
    • Project manage digital content across brands, including attribute optimization and partnering to develop merchandising PDP assets (imagery, copy) where gaps may exist.
    • Plan and coordinate digital asset development, product setup, and preparation for key product launches on ecommerce channels.
    • Partner with global counterparts, agencies, and internal functional areas to update site content and assist in QA processes on pages.
    • Create and implement a content plan consistent with promotion and launch calendars while ensuring brand integrity throughout planning and implementation.
    • Manage schedules for digital content updates, including assets, landing pages, merchandising, and site enhancements.
    • Track retailer deadlines and project statuses, following up with cross-functional teams as necessary to ensure timely submission of digital assets.
  • Maximize Merchandising Opportunities
    • Optimize product positioning and presentation throughout to align with marketing campaigns and merchandising/inventory priorities.
    • Contribute to product planning activities with the goal of improving financial metrics, including sales, gross margin dollars/rate, and inventory performance.
    • Develop merchandising and promotional calendar and asset needs (photo, content) in alignment with seasonal stories to deliver on department and channel sales goals with an awareness of complementary omnichannel strategies.
    • Manage online visual merchandising strategy and identify new opportunities to drive digital sales and customer engagement.
    • Work closely with channels to assess opportunities for co-op marketing, product reporting, merchandising improvements, and promotions.
    • Oversee measurement strategy and reporting to track product performance across digital channels and refine our assortment, content, and tactics to optimize results.
    • Analyze product and category sales trends to develop annual and seasonal growth forecasts and translate them into inventory buy plans.
    • Develop enhanced product content and manage brand stores on external sites.
    • Ensure optimal product placement, visibility of key items, and effective merchandising to drive conversion and average order value, including site search, and cross-sell/upsell to optimize experience and maximize merchandising opportunities.
    • Review and analyze competitor site merchandising, promotional execution, and tactics, user experience, and product representation.
    • Partner with marketing personnel for product, category, and brand storytelling on site and in consumer email communications.
  • Improve Customer Experience
    • Understand key audience segments and oversee customer-centric digital experiences to increase engagement and conversion as well as drive revenue and profitability.
    • Manage customer feedback and apply an understanding of customer needs, trends, and shopping behaviors to maximize online sales.
    • Analyze the customer path to purchase and recommend changes that enhance the experience to increase ecommerce conversion.
    • Develop and project manage all ratings & reviews programming on and, working with vendors as needed to maximize review gen and monitoring.
    • Bring direct customer insights and trends to the product development process.
    Requirements
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, or other related degree.
    • 2-4 years proven work experience in Digital Merchandising or similar role.
    • 2-4 years proven work experience with Active Directory.
    • Comfortable with financial metrics, including sales and margin goals, as well as the ability to optimize merchandising plans to drive sales.
    • Demonstrated ability to work as an entrepreneurial self-starter serving as a catalyst for change and managing multiple work streams simultaneously.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) with intermediate Excel skills.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with web analytics tools and vendor portals.
    • Strong understanding of web content and SEO best practices.
    • Experience with Salsify or similar PIM.
    • SAP Experience.
    Travel and Work Environment

This position will require less than 10% travel. The job operates in a combination of professional office and warehouse environment, using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, server room, and filing cabinets.
