Position Overview:
Join the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Central Sterilization Specialist, where your expertise will contribute to the essential operations of healthcare delivery. In this role, you will be an integral part of a dedicated team that ensures the highest standards of sterilization and infection control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in various assignments that enhance your professional development.
  • Participate in the Internal Traveler Program, offering diverse clinical practice opportunities.
  • Enjoy competitive compensation aligned with industry standards for traveler positions.
  • Work in 13-week intervals, with the possibility of extension up to 39 weeks.
  • Receive a one-time incentive of $2,500.00 upon completion of your first assignment.

Compensation:
Hourly rate commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Preferred one year of relevant experience.
  • Licensure: Certification as a CRCST (Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician) through IAHCSMM or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) through CBSPD is required. Certification eligibility opens pathways for advancement to a Certified Sterile Processing Technician role.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods, frequently bend, stoop, and reach overhead. Strong communication, auditory, and visual skills are essential. Attention to detail and legible writing are necessary. Ability to lift, push, or pull weights between 25-50 lbs. The work environment may involve exposure to fumes, chemicals, vibrations, heat, noise, blood/body fluids, and infectious materials.
